Perform "what If" scenarios if you are considering asset movements or changes to ensure to continually comply with all prescribed requirements. Our Average Age tool calculates the Age of assets in the following manner:

    P    All assets are not 1 until they reach their first birthday based on the Make Date or Date of Birth.

    P    The age is calculated with no decimal places.

For example an asset with a Make Date or Date of Birth of 1 January 2019 will be recorded as 0 age until 1 January 2020 when it turns 1. The calculation of age is consistent with how we determine our own age.

Transport Toolkit acknowledges that there are various ways to calculate vehicle age and average age for fleets. For operators and regulators who would like a different age calculations, please feel free to contact us to see what is possible.

To use the Average Fleet Age Calculator tool you need to set-up your Fleet and create your vehicles (Assets). The step by step guide is outlined below:

Step 1 - Once you have created an account, you will see a My Profile heading at the top right of the screen. When you hover over the heading a drop down menu will appear, click on My Fleet

Step 2 - Then click Add Fleet and enter the requested information

Step 3 - Hover over the My Profile heading and select the My Vehicles menu option

Step 4 - When this page loads select Add New Vehicle and enter the requested information. Please note that the Make Date is used to calculate the vehicle age

Step 5 - From the Tool menu click on the Average Vehicle Age heading

Step 6 - Select the Fleet/s (Multiple fleet records can be retrieved) and enter the relevant information and the Average Age calculation will be performed

You can save all of your calculations, which is perfect if you want to create a number of "What If" scenarios.
